Track & Field (Athletics)
The big story of the day was Hanger patient Jerome Singleton.
On Monday, Jerome ran a season best time -- in spite of a slight stumble out of the starting blocks. It qualified him for the Men's 100-meter T-44 classification which ran Tuesday night.
After a false start, Jerome came out strong. He lead the race early with Brian Frasure, Marlon Shirley and world-renowned Oscar Pistorius lagging behind. At about 60-meters, Marlon Shirley fell due to what appeared to be a torn Achilles tendon. With about 10-meters remaining, Jerome was still in the lead with Oscar Pistorius on his heels. In the end, Oscar leaned a fraction more than Jerome over the finish line and won by 2/100ths of a second! It was an incredible Olympic finish.
Jerome won the Silver medal. Congratulations Jerome!

Today they challenged China, the reigning #1 team and a team that the US has never beaten. Unfortunately, the US lost. Final score: China 3 - USA 0.
