Cameron Clapp

Cameron ClappIn September 2001, Cameron Clapp was involved in a tragic train accident. He lost both legs above the knees and his right arm just below the shoulder. His family was informed that he would probably never walk again. Not accepting the unfavorable news, they began a search to find a company that had the technology and experience to meet Cameron’s challenging situation.

Just five months after the accident, Cameron mastered walking independently. He now has several different types of prosthetic legs which he uses for different activities. Including running competitively, swimming, golfing and walking everyday. He currently uses the Hanger Complete System which includes the patented ComfortFlex Socket, a computerized knee and energy storing foot.

“I wear my legs from the time I wake up until I go to bed. They are a part of me now. I left the wheelchair five months after the accident and I don’t want to have to use it again,” said Cameron.

Cameron has been featured on CNN and in newspaper and magazine articles. He hopes to one day represent the United States as an amputee athlete competing in international athletic competitions.
