Lindsay Thomas lost both legs below the knees in an automobile accident. Due to extensive skin grafting on her residual limbs, she had difficulty getting a good fitting socket to allow her to wear her legs for extended periods of time. “When I got the ComfortFlex sockets it made all the difference in the world. They are really comfortable and sometimes I even forget that I am wearing artificial legs,” said Lindsay.
Lindsay uses a silicone gel liner that protects her skin and is soft so it actually helps to absorb impact as she goes about her daily activities. The sockets are suction type sockets that lock her limbs into the anatomically designed channels for maximum control.
Since receiving her ComfortFlex sockets, Lindsay has returned to many of the activities she loves, such as biking and running. “I will never give up. It has been an interesting ride since the loss of my legs but I never look back, I stay focused on the future and enjoy life,” she said.
