Shillington, Pa. – While serving in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam in 1974, Long Nguyen stepped on a land mine, resulting in the loss of his left leg below-the-knee. Nguyen had been using an older prosthesis which restricted activities he’d like to do such as working on the construction site, running and fishing.
Fortunately, that all changed when Shillington, Pennsylvania-based Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics practitioner Clayton Luffey volunteered to help. Luffey fitted Nguyen with a new, state-of-the art prosthesis, allowing him to get back to the things he has missed out on for years.
Nguyen’s story was featured on the front page of the Reading Eagle. Click here to read the full article.
