CNN’s Larry King Live promotes prosthetic limb drive

Bethesda, Md. – Hanger Orthopedic Group, Physicians for Peace, and Heather Mills have teamed up to host a nationwide prosthetic limb drive. The effort, developed to help the multitude of those suffering from amputations and other physical disabilities in Haiti, was featured on CNN’s Larry King Live last night.

Donated prosthetic limbs will be collected at any of Hanger’s 670+ patient care centers and will then be shipped directly to Physicians for Peace. Through Physicians for Peace’s partner network of Healing Hands for Haiti and St. Vincent’s School for Handicapped Children in the capital city of Port au Prince, prosthetic donations will be used to help new amputees in Haiti. With support from Hanger Orthopedic Group, the internationally recognized non-profit Physicians for Peace has been providing amputee rehabilitation services in Haiti since 2005.

People looking to donate wheelchairs, crutches, braces, etc., can contact Physicians for Peace directly at 757-625-7569. For more information, visit www.physiciansforpeace.org.
