Hanger’s Annual Education Fair and National Meeting is an educational event that is second to none. We bring our staff together from across the nation to share ideas and energy about the latest developments in technology, clinical techniques, and innovative business practices. Many of the companies with whom we partner demonstrate new products, giving our professionals the kind of insights that can only come from a hands-on experience. Hanger’s team of clinical program specialists led advanced training, with additional seminars presented by noted industry experts.
The Clinical Education Series focuses on key innovations like the patented Hanger ComfortFlex™ Socket, the Insignia™ 3-D motion tracking laser scanner, and proprietary Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Non-clinical staff members also have opportunities for career development through learning programs like E-Versity, off-site workshops and classes, and becoming involved in working on business initiatives with their peers at Hanger. Our E-Versity is a distance-learning program that enables our clinicians to pursue higher levels of education and certification. A professional development series includes training in the areas of compliance, clinical and HIPPA.The Newington Certificate Program, Hanger's orthotic and prosthetic school, in affiliation with the University of Connecticut, offers a certificate course in orthotics and/or prosthetics. Upon completion of the course, graduates receive a certificate and then go on to complete a residency in their specialty area. The Hanger residency program is the largest in the country averaging 70 residents each year with an average retention rate of 90%.Newington also offers the opportunity to obtain a second discipline in orthotics and prosthetics through distance learning. This allows the employee to remain fully employed and pursue certification in a second discipline from their home.
