Robert S. Lin, MEd, CPO, FAAOP, National Residency Director

Mr. Lin received his undergraduate education the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.  He attended the NYU Post Graduate Medical School Prosthetic and Orthotic Program from 1978-80 while completing the clinical internship required at the Hospital for Special Surgery, VA and Newington Children's Hospital

From 1980-82 he served as a resident orthotist/prosthetist at the Newington Children's Hospital and later joined the staff as the Residency Program Advisor and Clinical Coordinator. After serving as the Director of Orthotics/Prosthetics for seven years, he joined Hanger Orthopedic Group as the National Director of Residency Training and Chief Orthotist/Prosthetist at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in 1995.  Two years previous to this, he founded the Newington Certificate Program in Orthotics and Prosthetics (NCP).  The NCP is one of eight accredited O & P schools in the U.S. and currently matriculates the second largest class each cycle.

Mr. Lin has held numerous board and committee leadership positions, including Chairman of the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education from 1996-98.  In addition, he has authored numerous book chapters and journal articles in the areas of pediatric and adult orthotics, and he is a frequent lecturer at national and international symposiums.
