Pediatric Orthotics

The Hanger Pediatric Orthotic Program has a devoted pediatric nation orthotic team working with patients ranging from infant up to age 18. The program encompasses a full-range of services from preventative sports orthotics for young athletes to specialty orthosis from chronic conditions and diseases such as cerebral palsy.

Hanger offers a multidisciplinary approach to pediatric orthotic services that addresses each child’s unique needs. With our national network of practitioners and orthotic specialists, your child will receive individual attention and superior orthotic care from infancy through adulthood.

Just as children are continually growing, the Hanger clinical team is continually learning and committed to advanced training and education. This means Hanger can provide the latest techniques and services available.

Hanger offers following pediatric orthotic services:

  • Spinal, neck and back orthoses - including scoliosis
  • Lower extremity orthoses
  • Upper extremity orthotics

We also offer the follow special services for infants and children:

The Hanger Pediatric Shoe Initiative makes sure that children using orthotic braces or supports have footwear that will benefit the outcome of the orthotic protocol. Often times, traditional footwear doesn’t comfortably accommodate an orthotic device and can create a secondary probably from abrasions to instability, circulatory problems and compromised circulation. By fitting the child with in-depth orthopedic shoes, the child can be more comfortable and the orthotic device can be worn to achieve optimal results.

The Hanger Cranial Band for the treatment of deformational plagiocephaly. Cranial Bands treat an abnormal head shape through a painless remolding process. Children or parents can select a fun design for the cranial band from one of our over 30 options. Some options include butterflies, soccer balls and even Dalmatian spots!
