Plagiocephaly

Your baby is your pride and joy and it can be very frightening to think that your infant needs any type of medical treatment. An abnormal head shape can be a concerning and a fearful hurdle for new parents. Luckily, it’s a treatable and manageable condition. 

Plagiocephaly refers to the flattening or deformation of an infant’s head. Since the "Back to Sleep" program began, this condition has become more common. Even through this condition has a high success rate, the earlier you seek treatment the better the outcome and the less time your child will need to receive treatment.

Craniosynostosis is a condition that refers to the premature closure of one or more sutures of the skull.  Sutures are the flexible connections between the bony plates of the skull and require surgical release prior to orthotic treatment.
